RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — May 1, 2026 — Hold.Health—a national learning network advancing a movement at the intersection of faith and health to support a just, equitable and effective healthcare system—today announced three award recipients whose work reflects compassion, integrity and a commitment to future generations.
This year’s honorees—Rabbi Hillel Cohn, Rev. Dr. Kirsten Peachey and Jaime Wesolowski—exemplify what it means to lead with purpose and create lasting impact across generations. Through their work in faith, health care and community engagement, they have helped build more just,connected and thriving communities.
The three awards—Dr. Gerald Winslow Ethical Clarity Award, Dr. Ruth J. Temple Moral Courage Award and Dr. Somava Saha Better Ancestor Award—highlight distinct yet interconnected dimensions of leadership, from ethical decision-making and justice-centered advocacy to transforming lived experience into lasting change.
The recipients of the 2026 awards are:

Dr. Ruth J. Temple Moral Courage Award: Rev. Dr. Kirsten Peachey
This award honors the legacy of Dr. Ruth J. Temple, the first African American female graduate of Loma Linda University and a trailblazer in public health and community empowerment in Los Angeles. Recipients embody integrity, compassion, leadership and inspiration.
Rev. Dr. Kirsten Peachey embodies moral courage through more than two decades of work advancing community health, equity and justice at Advocate Aurora Health. A trusted leader and advocate, she has worked across sectors to uplift the voices of those most often marginalized—addressing issues from food insecurity and violence to systemic inequities—while building meaningful partnerships between health systems, public health and faith communities. Her approach is grounded in compassion, dignity and a deep belief in the power of community-led change.
A social worker, chaplain and ordained United Church of Christ pastor, Peachey is known for her “radical hospitality” and her ability to bring people together across differences. She has played a key leadership role in Hold.Health and contributed to national work on trauma, resilience and community healing, while mentoring and inspiring others through her steady, values-driven leadership.
Dr. Gerald Winslow Ethical Clarity Award: Rabbi Hillel Cohn
Named in honor of Dr. Gerald Winslow—longtime professor at Loma Linda University and Founding Director of its Institute for Health Policy and Leadership—this award recognizes individuals who exemplify the integration of public health, faith and ethics.
Rabbi Hillel Cohn exemplifies ethical clarity through a lifetime of leadership rooted in faith, service and a deep commitment to community. As Rabbi Emeritus of Congregation Emanu El in San Bernardino, he has spent decades building bridges across diverse religious and civic communities—advocating for peace, inclusion and the dignity of all, particularly those most marginalized. His work reflects a steady moral voice, grounded in dialogue, respect and the pursuit of justice.
Rabbi Cohn has dedicated his life to fostering understanding and equity in the Inland Empire. From founding community initiatives and leading human relations efforts to serving on healthcare ethics boards and interfaith committees, he is widely recognized for his ability to bring people together across differences. His lifelong commitment to ethical leadership and community well-being continues to inspire across generations.
Dr. Somava Saha Better Ancestor Award: Jaime Wesolowski
Named in honor of Dr. Somava Saha, this award recognizes leaders who embody a redemptive approach to leadership—transforming challenges into lasting impact while advancing health, equity and well-being across generations.
Jaime Wesolowski exemplifies this spirit through more than four decades of healthcare leadership grounded in service, resilience and a deep commitment to community well-being.
As President and Chief Executive Officer of Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas, he leads one of the largest private funding sources dedicated to improving community health in the region, advancing a mission of “Serving Humanity to Honor God” while expanding access to care for those most in need.
A cancer survivor, Wesolowski brings a deeply personal perspective to his leadership, shaping a compassionate and holistic approach to health that honors the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of individuals and families. Throughout his career, he has led major healthcare systems across the country, guiding organizations with integrity, vision and a focus on long-term impact. His work extends beyond clinical care to address the broader drivers of health—including economic stability, food access and safe environments—reflecting a deep commitment to building healthier communities for generations to come.
